The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss

4.0

I debated with giving thIS book three stars instead of four, and ended up going with the four. There is no denying that Rothfuss prose and world building and character development is well done, but at times though the prose was great BUT the story felt a little to dragged out.

When I began the second novel in the Kingkiller Chronicles, I was happy to be back in Kvothes world. I was even more excited that finally I got to see Kvothe in a different setting than the University. It started out interesting and I was very into it, but once it reached the parts of Felurian and going back to Tempi's home....I felt like the story was being dragged out. It was still interesting to read, but I was becoming frustrated and almost desperate for it to be over with. I couldn't wait for Kvothe to get back to the University and among the older characters from the first book, like Sim and Wil and Manet who I just LOVE.

It worries me that the third book is the last book, because I feel like The Wise Man's Fear didn't really answer a lot of the questions that were raised in the first book. Their are so many stories within Kvothe's own story that I'm just wondering how Rothfuss plans to wrap it all up...and this worries me because I really want the trilogy to end well because I love it and Kvothe and the other minor characters scattered about, and I will hate for the last book to give a bad name to the first books and the second book because they are goodreads.

Here's hoping for the best, and patiently (not really) waiting for the final installment of this series.
