Raiders of the Lost Heart is a romance novel with a unique setting: two rival archaeologists hunting for treasure in the Mexican jungle. The premise was really intriguing and well-executed, with the perfect mix of action, adventure, and romantic spice. The ending was also handled nicely.

That said, I didn’t fully connect with the main characters. Ford made a lot of questionable choices, and even though he explained them, I didn’t feel like he truly redeemed himself. With Corrie, I would’ve loved to see more of her archaeological skills. The scene where she figures out they were digging in the wrong place and leads them to the real site was great—I just wanted more of that and less of her being focused on Ford.

Overall, it was a fun, enjoyable read that met my expectations, but there were still some areas where it could’ve been better.
