Duck Feet by Ely Percy

5.0

5/5 ⭐️: an absolute BELTER of a book! Loved everything about this. “Duck Feet” follows Kirsty, a young Scottish girl growing up working class in Renfrew in the early 00s. It’s written in Scots, and I can’t imagine it any other way; the language brings so much colour and personality to the stories. It’s a distinctively Scottish novel, which I loved (I’m biased but there was lots I related to!) Some hard-hitting themes, and there’s a proper gut-punch moment near the end which broke my heart into a million bits! Thankfully this is balanced with plenty of warmth and good Scottish humour. I’ll be thinking about this book for a long time and recommending it to everyone!
