Classic Pratchett. A funny and moving meditation on the nature of religion. Doesn't necessarily say anything you haven't heard before, but does it in a very, well, Pratchett way that makes it very readable. A story of a young "novice" would-be priest named Brutha with perfect recall who meets his God...who has been trapped in the body of a turtle. When the evil head priest learns of Brutha's abilities, Brutha gets wrapped up in a battle between his theocratic homeland and a neighboring country, all while the "great god Om," as a turtle, tries to enlist his aid to regain his godly status. Needless to say, Brutha is increasing disillusioned as the story goes on, to hilarious effect.
