Parachutes by Kelly Yang

4.0

Don’t let the cover fool you, the story within is not as cutesy as you’d think. If not for the very well deserved trigger warning, I would have never guessed what I was in for when I started listening to Parachutes.
Dani and Claire’s stories pulled at my heartstrings. I loved the author’s note, where Yang wrote about the research she did about real life parachutes and the schools that sometimes do nothing to help them and other students that find their way into similar scenarios that the characters in her book do. Yang also wrote about her experience in Harvard and mimics the proceedings within the book.
