His Bane by Courtney W. Dixon
4.0
This book was really good. I enjoyed His Death Bringer so I was looking forward to reading His Bane.
The first 20% of this book broke my heart. It broke for Sully and it broke for Martin, poor, sweet, baby-love Martin, god. We dive a bit into Sully’s childhood and it’s pretty horrible. And poor Malik thought he was doing right by Sully only to be wracked with guilt later on.
Malik eventually takes Sully under his wing and trains him.
Sully fixates on Malik and wants him for himself. Sully doesn’t feel emotions the way most of do. They do end up together some but Malik won’t let himself go completely because of a ghost from his past that haunts him. They do eventually get their HEA but it’s not easy to get there. Definitely recommend. I would start with His Death Bringer and definitely check the TW.
