Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine was recommended to me by a friend as one of her favorite books which is why it pains me to give it a two-star rating. Most of it was because it was a little slower than what I am used to reading, not to mention the content of the book. My biggest issue was my inability to connect with the main character/narrator. I could not get over her rudeness and inability to see her insensitivity towards other people; however, I realized towards the end how that was important to her character and a result of her upbringing/ coping mechanism. Still, I enjoyed the last quarter more than the rest of the book. My favorite parts were the interactions with Sammy, and Raymond. Was it a good book? I think so. Just maybe not my cup of tea. I would still recommend it depending on the circumstance and criteria.
Graphic: Addiction, Alcoholism, Domestic abuse, and Suicidal thoughts
Moderate: Stalking
