That was gentler and more fun than I was fearing (blame the more angsty [up to a point] [b:Right as Raine|56326586|Right as Raine (Aster Valley #1)|Lucy Lennox|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1610241080l/56326586._SY75_.jpg|87756933]). RTC to come, but I enjoyed self hugely and intrigued to dip toe more into this series and trying out new (to me) MM romance authors

I'm not entirely certain how the VINO & VERITAS series got on my radar (I did a cover reveal for the upcoming titles in the series: [b:Stronghold|56758968|Stronghold (Vino and Veritas, #14)|Ana Ashley|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1620915759l/56758968._SY75_.jpg|88707815], [b:Limelight|56759002|Limelight (Vino and Veritas, #15)|E. Davies|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1620947093l/56759002._SY75_.jpg|88707902], [b:Unforgettable|55275583|Unforgettable (Vino and Veritas #16)|Marley Valentine|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1620933619l/55275583._SY75_.jpg|86195611], [b:Showstopper|56759008|Showstopper (Vino and Veritas, #17)|Regina Kyle|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1620947169l/56759008._SY75_.jpg|88707926] & [b:Undone|56328766|Undone (Vino and Veritas #18)|Leslie McAdam|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1620947436l/56328766._SY75_.jpg|87759418] on my blog, The Pewter Wolf Reads back in May 2021), but somehow, I did and out of the titles available/up for preorder at the time: this and one other ([b:Insatiable|57501544|Insatiable (Vino & Veritas, #11)|Rhys Everly|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1616692761l/57501544._SY75_.jpg|88707164]) caught my eye and I planned to read and review both at the same time (alas, I committed to a review-based blog tour to a thriller so on the back burner that plan goes for now).

However, I did want to write a small something about this title as, when I started this, I feared it was going to be more angsty than I like (am only just beginning to branch out in my MM romance reading). It wasn't, thank goodness, but it could have been so easily in someone else's hands.

Quick rundown: Carter has spent the last ten years working at a big chain office store, leaving his father's small letterpress business behind. But when his father calls out of the blue, begging Carter to come home as his mom has run off to Paris and threatened to end the marriage, Carter manages to get time off and go home, planning to make small changes to help his father's business and his parents's marriage.

But he isn't braced for Auden who still works with his dad. And who happens to be Carter's ex. Auden is Scottish, wears a kilt from time to time, still cautious as heck (hence why when Carter left, Auden stayed) and soon, the two are finding themselves in a second chance romance. But will there be a happily ever after for them both?

Review partially taken from The Pewter Wolf Reads

After reading Insatiable by Rhys Everly, I prefer Turnabout more. It's a lovely, grounded second chance romance and this feels like something I could read with a Hot Chocolate late one wintery evening. I was rooting for both characters to get together. Definitely going to check out this author's other titles.
