Six Days in Rome by Francesca Giacco

5.0

Italy has been on my list of places I want to visit forever and this book both soothed that itch while also making me want to book a flight ASAP. What an immersive read. It was beautiful to see the world through the protagonist’s observant and sharp eye. I felt like I was walking beside her in the humid Rome heat and taking everything in as she points things out for me. All those small details we take for granted in our everyday life were highlighted and the mundane was able to become something beautiful through the authors words. I love books that read like a stream of consciousness! So excited to read more from this debut author! (4.5? Maybe 5??)
