Mercenary Instinct was entertaining, but not all I'd hoped it would be. Parts of the plot felt far fetched and didn't always make sense to me.

It didn't ring true to me that the mercenary captain would be interested in a business agreement so quickly, especially given his reputation.

The overall plot wasn't bad, and parts of the book were very exciting, but it still somehow lacked the "wow" factor.

That said, there are relatively few scifi-rom books out there and this had enough potential to interest me in the second book of the series.
