Ooof.
The only reason this got 2 stars and not one is because I genuinely thought the hit points of the story were good and had promise. The problem is, that's all they were...hit points. It was as if someone made a bullet point list:
-she gets stuck in a toilet. he has to get her out
-giant metal dick
-raccoon pet
-family of 4 brothers
But then they forgot to actually write a STORY. Take the toilet thing. I mean...what the actual fuck? It makes NO FUCKING SENSE TO ME how a grown women gets STUCK IN A TOILET. It's not like the authors bothered to explain it. We have the hero making waffles that he's going to bring over to her. She calls. He finds her STUCK IN A TOILET. He pulls her out. The end. The whole book is just vignettes. Pieces that needed WAY more depth and detail. Like...her sister's ex apparently fucked a sheep???? AND NOTHING IS EXPLAINED ABOUT THAT??? It's written as if two people got drunk and started throwing shit at the wall going "wouldn't that be hilarious???" and then didn't go back edit the draft.
Also, Ryan pulls a idiot dick move at the end and I honestly didn't believe that Cassie should or would get back with him. It felt completely out of his character.
