Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn

2.0

I adored reading Penelope & Colin's story, I promise I did, but I got whiplash reading this novel! Of course, there was the infamous lack-of-communication trope, but the constant back-and-forth between extreme emotions was even worse.
Spoiler Colin learns that Penople is Lady Whistledown, and he is enraged! He complained of Lady Whistledown writing about his "effortless charm" and wished the world knew him for something other than his name and personality. Finding out the woman he was falling in love with was Lady Whistledown angered him beyond words! But... a mere 15 minutes after discovering her identity... Colin & Peneople nearly have sex in a carriage. Then they get married, Lady Whistledown is revealed, and everyone had a happy ending.
Colin goes from anger to lust in a heartbeat throughout this novel. Every time this happened, it drew me out of the story.
