Promises and Pomegranates by Sav R. Miller

I loved this book. Gosh, I really did. I loved how the "villain" was so perfectly hatable to the point where there was no redemption possible because she was just, simply, a really bad person. It's weird to like something like this, - I notice that when I write it down, believe me - but sometimes it's satisfying to me whenever a "villain" is not forgiven by the main character, and their bad actions aren't just swept under the rug like they were nothing because they had a good enough personal reason.
I didn't give it 5 stars for a reason that matches many other people's:
Spoiler the whole past crush and relationship that Kal has had on/with Elena's mom, because, it really was the sole reason why it took me a whole week to finish this book
. But, overall, I do have to admit it's an amazing and beautiful dark romance, in my eyes, and I highlighted way too many sentences and whole paragraphs throughout the whole reading process to call it anything less than that. I would understand people's disliking over the book due to the reason I just mentioned, but, to me, it didn't really ruin too much of the story, it was just hard to read and process the situation without cringing and complaining out loud sometimes. I was enough to take off that 0,5 of my rating but I really did love this book [extra points for the smut, ngl, it's hard to not mention that here] .
