This was an absolute delight! The descriptions were evocative, and the little bits of text that described the world made it seem vibrant and with a deep history, even though we don't see much of it (General Tubman - yes). Each character had a unique voice and I could easily imagine who they were because of it. This was an incredible experience to imagine; if you like to visualize the things you read you will not be disappointed.
Knocking it down from 5 stars because it definitely could have been longer, and I felt like the Goddess subplot was more annoying than interesting. But that's simply a matter of personal preference - this book is great, and I highly recommend giving it a shot.
