Chapterhouse: Dune by Frank Herbert

R.I.P. Frank Herbert

From my observations reading the series, I became aware of Frank Herbert’s ebb and flow style; within the books and the overall series. He alternates pacing where he sees fit to draw you into this universe; albeit in exchange for some disciplined reading and introspection, and rewards you with the awing moments the only hit with the prerequisite build. Taking this into consideration it’s clear to me Frank Herbert didn’t write this book with his own death in my mind, he continued at his masterful pace and it’s unfortunate he didn’t get the time to deliver the grand finale we all want, if that was his intention to begin with ;). I don’t think he ever planned to give us a true ending but rather drove his message home in saying thats for us to do on our own.

Frank Herbert succeed in his practice of creating a universe that can go on forever and serve as filter for our own philosophical questions.

Will I read more (#7 and #8)? Probably not. Frank Herbert’s last note was “write more books” = create more universes.

Chapter house ends exactly how it should in my opinion; fertilizer for new universes.
