The latest release from Tom Fletcher sees George, Neila, and Bash get accidently zapped to space where they have to take part in an intergalactic battle of the bands.

An interesting change with this book is that unlike Fletcher's previous books (where a standard version is released and then followed up with a musical edition), it seems that this time he has opted for going straight to a musical version of the story.  The boom featured song lyrivs throughout where George writes songs to accompany plot elements aling the way and express his feelings in a creative way. Also unlike previous books wgere it came with a cd, with Space Band readers are encouraged to scan a QR code which then takes them to a website where you can select from major music streaming platforms to listen to the song performed in gull by  Fletchet ablnd the other members of his band McGly whivh was a really nice touch to see them all be involved in bringing the magic of this story to life and likely to bring over more of that McFly fanbase to his books if they haven't found their way here already.

As for the story itself  I'm not personally a big fan of space so I think that affected my enjoyment of this a lot. I liked the diversity in the characters a lot and appreciated the extra little McFly nod in one of the intergalactic characters.
