This is a brillant character study of a country on the edge of turmoil just bubbling over. It is somehow tender, introspective, and absurd all at once—much like life.

I’m sick in bed at the moment, so my brain is a bit mush, but the parts that work thoroughly enjoyed this novel. And I can’t pay any higher a compliment to Smith than saying I plan to buy this book and reread it with pen and highlighter firmly in hand.
