Broody Devil by Melissa Ivers

4.0

Hockey player Rhett has a bad reputation, a bad image, and an even worse attitude. He is on his last strike from being off the team, and Lucy, hi PR agent, is determined to fix him. One night in Vegas and they wake up with no memory, a signes marriage license, and matching wedding rings. Hell bent on saving Rhett's image, Lucy and Rhett decide to stay in the fake marriage to help him for four months. Little do they know the ground rules they set, like no sex and no falling in love, are lines that they are about to blur.

So I probably should have read the first two books in the Devils series before reading this one, but @ccsbookstack 's review had me so intrigued that I bypassed them and jumped right into this book! No regrets! I absolutely loved Rhett and Lucy. They were the polar opposite relationship characters that just worked so well. The content and the spice were great and I was rooting for their happy ending from the second they realize they got married.

The side characters (who I did not know because of not reading the first two books) were enjoyable and funny. I'm definitely going to go back and read them too! I need backstories! I also enjoyed the side stories with both Rhett and Lucy's families. It helped me understand their characters better and didn't detract from the story at all.

I usually don't read sports romances, because sports aren't my thing, but can someone teach my husband to ice skate so we can re-enact that ice rink scene?
