Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

5.0

DOSTOEVSKY IS MY NEW HERO .

Okay , I will never forget this book as long as I live .

I've always dreaded thrillers , but after reading this book , damn , I think I might consider rethinking my life .

This book is honestly a piece of art . Starting from the general plot to every single detail . I loved every line , every word ! Oh god , how perfectly written it is , every single sentence is a masterpiece ..

So the book talks about Raskolnikov, who committed a crime due to some philosophy he believed in , and about his psychological suffering afterwards .

What I loved the most was the messages laying between the lines , the philosophical thoughts , the unpopular opinions , and the naked truths . I feel like "ibtissem" before reading Crime And Punishment isn't the same "ibtissem" after finishing it .
I loved the characters' personnalities mostly , how they were sophisticated and very able to maintain arguments , I found myself sympathising with a cruel murderer , but at the end I realised that we all have a small Rakolnikov within us , we are not necessarily murderers , but we all have that bad side ,that thirst for greateness and seek of immortality and remembrance. Raskolnikov wasn't a bad person , he just did a bad thing and he learned how to forgive himself at the end , as we all should .

Thank you Raskolnikov , Sofya Semyonovna , Profiry Petrovitch , and every character in this book , for teaching me so much more than you intended .

Well deserved 62829198393902289292837 stars .
