I'm not 100% sure how I feel about this book. The premise, with wormholes spawning in an IKEA analog, is awesome, and I enjoyed all the sci-fi aspects. However, the book also spends a lot of time with the main characters analyzing and reacting to their recent breakup, and that's usually the opposite of something I'm interested in reading about. There is a solid representation of severe anxiety and depression in here, which I appreciated, as well as queer characters and a trans person. I confess that while the pronouns were well handled, I had trouble understanding Jules's history. I think this is a failure of understanding on my part. Is Jules a trans man or a trans woman? Or neither? Because of the genderless pronouns, I just don't know. *Edited to add... ok, I think I get it now. So someone can transition to non-binary? So Jules is a trans non-binary person?

It didn't detract from the story, but it did pull me out of it more than once.

Without giving anything away, I will say that I didn't love the ending. I am curious whether a full length novel is planned, because if so, I could deal with the ending better.
