It was good I guess, good writing and a good plot, but I just didn’t really enjoy it. I think because it had such intense subjects all at the same time, and honestly didn’t handle them with any sort of delicacy. I compare it to other books I’ve read on mental health, and I think those had a stronger impact on me. This one did get across the point the author wanted: mental hospitals are messed up, but did it do so respectfully, intelectually and with clever ideas? I don’t really know. I can say I appreciated it.
Graphic: Mental illness
Moderate: Rape, Sexism, Sexual content, and Suicide
Minor: Racial slurs and Racism
