Skinny Bitch Gets Hitched by Kim Barnouin

5.0

I have been a huge fan of the Skinny Bitch books from the first, The Skinny Bitch Cookbook. Skinny Bitch in Love was a fabulous start to getting to know the world of vegans in a world where eating animals is a normal thing. Somehow Kim Barnouin is able to tell a story without me feeling like this is a bunch of rhetoric being shoved down my throat. She always have some great info about veganism and how being on that kind of diet can be fabulous for you and makes the food sound wonderful!

And although these books due surround food, they are mostly about characters. Clementine Cooper is just fabulous. I love her even when she’s doing something that I don’t like. Although in this book it’s mainly about what Zach is doing, or in this case, NOT doing. The tension is high and it’s not a good tension. Kim Barnouin actually had me worried so much that quite a few times I caught myself chewing on my nails!

Clem is facing some important gal themes and I loved every minute of them. It’s funny how some girls always want that ultimate wedding and then others secretly do but say they don’t, and then some just want to elope! The theme is there though, this is all about weddings and how Clem and her friends feel about them and of course the ups and downs of planning a wedding and meeting the new fam!

Funnily enough I laughed through quite a bit of the drama, and then cried through some of it. I mean seriously, Kim knows how to bring out the emotions, the full spectrum of them! You don’t HAVE to read the first to get a good feeling for the characters but if you want the background, I definitely recommend them. And if you’re like me and curious about being a vegan or even a vegitarien, do yourself a favor and go grab the Skinny Bitch Diet cookbook!
