Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn, David Levithan

3.0

I think this book deserves more than 3 stars, but it wasn't as great as other books to which I've given 4 stars! What to do???

I liked this WAY better than Nick & Norah. Probably because Lily was EXACTLY the teenager I was: kind of awkward and possibly klutzy, and wearing strange clothes, and not kissing boys. Although, she DID eventually have a romantic encounter, which makes her different from teenage me. Also Dash and Lily bonded over words instead of punk music.

I loved Lily's huge protective family and Dash's pretentiousness and Lily.

It would be interesting if these authors would collaborate on a book where they wrote opposite characters. RC could write the boy and DL could write the girl. I would read it.
