This was classic "she's my best friend's sister" and I loved it! Alex and Ava were a great pairing and I really enjoyed their development as a couple. they really brought out great things for each other and even though there was conflict and tense scenes, I think they worked quite nicely. This was my first Ana Huang book and I'm so invested. I love a series that acts as standalones and I'm super excited for the next three installments. The spice was so much fun as an added bonus, but I really did like the turmoil that this book had. The tension was so real and the dark pasts from both of them really helped them find their way to each other.
