The Oracle's Queen by Lynn Flewelling

4.0

The conclusion to Flewelling's triad comes together in a thrilling if straightforward way. I think her strengths lie much more in the low key, day to day, familiar relationships that grow over time, and as such the grander bombast here is a little bland. This has a nice twist in that we get a PoV from the antagonist's side of things, which is absolutely the highlight here. It's also much better driven than the second as we see the outcome of the finale there and how it changes everything for our characters.

It's still a great conclusion, big, monumentous and epic and all - but the best book in this trilogy was absolutely the first one.
