I'm unsure how to write this review as I definitely said most of it in the previous book's review (curses self for not writing the review when I finished it!). This reads like the middle book in a trilogy (oh wait, that is what it was supposed to be!). There is a lot of set up, and the actual plot of the book gets a little truncated.
It's still thoroughly enjoyable though. There's plenty of stuff going on around traveling and getting places at the time, and Novik attempts to make it clear that not everything is perfect in this world. It worked for me, for the most part, but it might have been too subtle to really make an impact.
