How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen: A Survival Guide to Life with Children Ages 2-7 by Julie King, Joanna Faber

5.0

A very useful collection of hints and tips for working with children whether you're a parents or a teacher (more useful for parents but I was able to implent stuff from there in the classroom also almost straight away). The theory is careully explained and broken down and then shown being used in anecdotes.

The great thing about this book is the authors admit that yes sometimes these strategies don't work as we are human and unpredictable even more so if we're children! It also admits that everyone makes mistakes and it's never too late to take a deep breath, take some time alone and attack the problem from a difficult angle. I would recommend to anyone who interacts with young children on a day to day basis and anyone looking to improve their emotional intelligence.
