Last To Die by James Grippando

4.0

I picked this up on the recommendation of a friend who had read some of James Grippando's stuff before and liked it; I'm glad that I did. The story was entertaining and well presented. You could always tell that there was something you didn't know and that there would be some kind of twist, but it actually took me quite awhile to figure out (which was much appreciated because often the "twist" is so obvious in this type of book that it's very anti-climactic). I liked that it included the legal side of the equation as well as some action without the action being overly gory and in your face as sometimes thriller novels can be. I was also very glad that you could pick this up as a stand alone story without having read the prior ones and this didn't rely on those for introduction and also didn't spoil anything that happened in them so that I can go back and read them later if I so choose. I enjoyed this very much as a quick and entertaining read, so would definitely recommend giving it a shot.
