This will be one of my favorite books of the year. I listened to the audiobook and was hooked from the first chapter. The story and writing were beautiful. The characters were memorable. The Cornwall setting provided the perfect backdrop. The audiobook narration felt effortless. I really loved this one.
Sometimes I am bothered by historical fiction with a dual timeline involving the present day, but I did not mind it at all in this book and, in fact, thought it added to the overall story.
This book was not even on my radar a couple of months ago, so it was a most pleasant surprise! (Thank you to my local library for bringing it to my attention.)
