I purchased this book when it came out in hardback last year, so why I've left it until now to read I'll never know. I LOVED IT. CoHo can do no wrong in my eyes. She is most definitely one of my favourite authors ever.
I just want to sit and cry both tears of sadness and anger but also happy tears.
Beyah, if there's any character in this book I most connected with, it's her. She's been through so much in her life already, I just wanted to reach out, give her a big cuddle, and tell her I'm here for her. She is strong minded, and although she's had a lot of setbacks, she is the one who knows what she wants and will stand by her friends and family, even if they're troubled and push her away.
I enjoyed this family coming together, especially father and daughter. But, the friendship she never knew she needed with her stepsister is just heartwarming to experience.
With any CoHo book, you can expect to be pulled along on an emotional journey, so maybe keep the tissues handy. Trust me, after you've finished reading, you'll sit and reflect whilst hugging the book.
