The Devil's Bargain by Carin Hart

dark emotional tense medium-paced

3.5

This book was pretty good. Ava and Link (Lincoln) were lovable characters. I was a bit disappointed that the book wasn't deeper and the reason I'm not giving it more stars. It just scratched the surface and I feel if it went deeper, it would have been an absolutely incredible story. I wish we could have gotten some flashbacks, like Ava realizing she would never love anybody like Link and refusing to marry her past lover or when Lincoln first k1lled. I wanted to see more of them together after getting married and Ava's heart finding its' way back to Lincoln. I love how Link kept that phone that allowed only her number through and how he literally shot one of his mens' 🍆 off for thinking Ava would blow him. For a standalone, it doesn't really conclude the ending. Why did Damien Libellula want a truce? What did he mean that if he could get to Ava, anyone could? I know there's more stories in the series, but it's a standalone, it's supposed to conclude in this book.
