SpoilerOut of all of the books in this series, this one is my favorite. Probably because it felt like the most believeble? And sweet. But also a bit bitter with Nox not being able to control shifting between his forms...Especially because he broke his chains and can't control it SINCE HE WAS TRYING TO SAVE AMY. I hate Duke Haures. And the fact that Nox had offered Amy companionship as a scared child by being her "imaginary friend" in the dark? I appreciated that Nox had the inner monologue of recognizing he never felt attraction to her then because he knew she was a child, just wanted to be what she needed from him and protect her. I loved them on Halloween, too, when Nox could pretend he was wearing a costume. However, I think my favorite part was when Amy's ex stalked her and tried to hurt her and Nox showed up. Amy begged Nox not kill her ex, not because she cared about him, but because it could get Nox in trouble with Duke Haures, and so Nox OPENED A PORTAL AND SENT HIM TO SOMBRA TO BE EATEN BY THE CREATURES THERE and then was like "you said I couldn't kill him. I didn't. But I'm not going to help him out either." And the plot twist with Amy's aunt...I saw it coming a bit, BUT NOT TO THAT EXTENT.

F*ck you, Haures, you hypocrite.
