The Dragon's Queen by Michelle M. Pillow
2.0
This is a reminder. STOP BUYING this author's books!! I loved the first book of the Dragon Lord series. It was refreshing, it was original and reasonably well plotted. The later books have maybe 20 pages of new material and just rehash what was in previous books. This book is a prequel to the Dragon Lords. It was very promising because she had a lot of new material while including information that will become apparent in later books. She apparently forgot some the history she presented in previous books. So many things don't jive with it. Having someone check it for continuity would have helped this book a lot. I'm giving it two stars because it doesn't completely suck.
Mason Lloyd does do an excellent job narrating this book. If you want a fluff piece to listen to while tooling along home from work, he's credible, his voice is fairly crisp and he does neat foreign sounding accents (Eastern European-like).
Note: I will be happy to loan this book to the first US person who PMs me who has a Kindle account.
