The Reality Dysfunction by Peter F. Hamilton

5.0

I last & first read this when I was a teen. On rereading, I started with a smidgen of doubt: could it really be as good as I remembered? Happily, the Suck Fairy hasn't visited this one. I still love it. I didn't have many quibbles. There's A LOT of sex obsessives in the cast of characters, which got tedious fast, and the lead character tips over from roguish charm into bit-of-a-bastard territory (which I feel may be more fully addressed in the later books, but I can't remember for sure). That aside though this was a ripping yarn; thrilling, amazing, inventive space opera with a vast scope.
