Freax and Rejex by Robin Jarvis

5.0

I am, I have to say, a big fan of Robin Jarvis, right back from the days of the Wyrd Museum, when it was apparently okay to misspell words like 'weird' for the intended audience.

Nowadays, Dancing Jacks is taking over the world, and my god, does Robin Jarvis go for it. In jokes, self-reference, dark humour, horror, mythology, English folk-tale, revelation, and pagan this-and-that mixed with an incisive and cutting prose. Wit, humour and a dark, dark heart spill out.

This book is great, and I'm waiting, just waiting, for the final book in 3-2-1 days time... come on Fighting Pax!
