The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty

What a great first book! I haven’t read too many books about Arabian mythology, but I think this book did a great job of explaining some key mythical creatures and lore. I’m also not generally a fan of books that are super heavy on political intrigue, but I LOVED it here. I also loved that the character development we saw in Nahri was a slow burn. While that can sometimes be annoying from an outside perspective, I’m expecting to see her really blossom into herself in the second book (especially given that ending?!). I’m excited for Nahri to come in with some plotting and conniving to get what she wants. All in all, I’m really excited to read the rest of this story. 4⭐️
