Don Juan by Lord Byron

4.0

Hilariously well-done. It's a shame Lord Byron died before he completed it. It's evident that the first half is stronger than the second half, but the second half is still enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed bouncing between poetical rhetoric via Byron interspersed between the retelling of Don Juan. Some of the ridiculous rhymes made me genuinely lol, and the verging on sublime made me take it more seriously given how self-aware it was, poking fun at everyone within reach, (and still at some who were not). It's as though Casanova heard about Don Juan and went, "Yup, that's the life for me."
