All the Wrong Places by Joy Fielding

2.0

[ I would say 2.5/3 stars, but a weak 3 stars ]

I bought this book and almost immediately read it because the cover ( another one, with a tunnel/sewer and a girl walking inside it, looking lost, holding a phone) and the title made me quite curious. I was anticipating a story with more horror vibes, so I guess it’s kind of my fault.

At first, I was a bit bored but decided to continue. I wasn’t finding the story really captivating nor the characters ( except maybe Mr. Right Now ).
It just felt like the story could’ve been shorter, because some things were irrelevant. The only thing that I ended up wanting to know about was Chloe and Matt’s story. I found that more interesting than the actual plot, which I find was pushed aside.
By the way, I also found Chloe and Sam ( not even a main character ) to be more interesting that the others.

I definitely wasn’t expecting what happened at the end, with Heather. I also felt like it was rushed and the ending was, actually, the worst part of this book and I would even say the worst ending I’ve ever read ( even though I haven’t read many books in my life). I was expecting to go back to Heather or/and Mr. Right Now point of view(s)and then following the investigation and for the other victims get justice but it ended a bit abruptly for me. I wasn’t expecting a happy ending.
