I Tried to Change So You Don't Have to: True Life Lessons by Loni Love
5.0
One of the best audiobooks I've read in a long time!
I honestly didn't know much about Loni Love going into reading this. I knew she was a comedian and is a host on The Reel (even though I've never actually seen it).
I loved this book! And now I love Loni Love.
She gets raw and in depth on her upbringing in the projects of Detroit, how she overcame adversity (and is still overcoming it today), her job as an engineer (say what, now?!), and the journey to stardom - all while throwing in the most hilarious "life lesson" tips.
Memoir/biographies read by the author is one of my favorite types of audiobooks to listen to and I've listened to a lot (Laura Graham, Elton John, Jenny Slate...). This book (and the voice inflections) took the cake on being funny, raw, and educating.
Cannot recommend it enough!!!
