my boy..... my baby baby boy................ he was done so dirty........
First half was solidly average. But when they actually get together, the writing really picks up. I don't buy them falling in love, but I do buy them when once they are in love. And the worldbuilding, again... I don't really buy into it and it's not done very well but sometimes that's just fine, you know?
All in all, it's like a tasty bowl of salted popcorn: a good snack with next to no substance. I need a big drink but maybe I'll back for more. But also, incredibly and forever disappointed that Tairn was not the main love interest. What is the point of writing a giant cranky old god of death without giving him a little kiss? Preposterous.
