The Bird Eater, by Ania Ahlborn

3.0

Aaron Holbrook returns to his childhood home 21 years after the murder of his Aunt Edie. The same home his mother committed suicide in when he was a baby. He has come for answers and also to hopefully stop blaming himself for his own son’s death. Strange things begin to happen in the home, some involving birds. Aaron also begins to see a boy everywhere, a boy with a baseball bat. Something about him seems familiar. Past, present and future all seem to be connected to this one boy. Aaron enlists the help of his childhood friends Eric and Cheri. Is the house haunted or is it a special place where time has no rules.

The surprises keep coming. Some I wish would have been revealed a little sooner to up the creep factor. The opening is intense but the rest is a confusing flight to a creepy and extremely dark ending.
