An enjoyably contradictory reading experience — I liked the main character’s unlikability, and I was engaged despite a relatively uneventful storyline. This book brings to mind a more modernized Bell Jar, capturing the same stale feeling of depression but injected with a certain absurd, humorous air that breaths a different type of life into it. It’s easy to see why this wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but it worked for me.
