Horizon Storms by Kevin J. Anderson

2.0

I read the first two in the series years ago and now I am reading the rest of the series now. I was not disappointed or anything but there are some characters or parts of the story that I just don't like. There are also some characters that I like to read about. The Hansa government seems more like the government of China at times. The Roamers I like though they are so tied up with their way of life that it gets a little annoying. The people of Theroc are a little to easy going. Why do some authors write future realities with kings in charge even if they are more like figureheads. The Hansa and the EDF are all to arrogant and make me cringe reading about them. Humans in general seem a little to simple. The Ildirans are rather stuck into their way of life as well which has caused them to stagnate in some ways I think. They have more reasons to be arrogant than the humans though. The reasons for what the other alien races are doing don't make much sense even though they are older and technologically advanced than any other race. Still I feel a need to see how this all ends.
