some nice prose here and there but other lines were a bit trite. i did appreciate that, as a YA book from the 90s, it avoided some modern staples like a heroine who insists she’s plain until the love interest declares otherwise. rather character- and relationship-driven but a bit weak on both counts. additionally, maybe i’m getting old but…
Spoiler…i think it’s a bit irresponsible to write a book for teenage girls in which the 16y/o female lead ends up with a 24y/o man who has also been sexually aggressive to her throughout
