My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

5.0

“Stars are fires that burn for thousand of years. Some of them burn slow and long like red dwarfs. Others - blue giants - burn their fuel so fast they shine across great distances, and are easy to see. As they start to run out of fuel, they burn helium, grow even hotter, and explode in a supernova. Supernovas, they’re brighter than the brightest galaxies. They die, but everyone watches them go.” (P43)

After reading 240 pages or so from this book, it made me reflect how one life lives. As Anna said, “Did you ever wonder how we all got here?” - the question relinks to what is the purpose of your life? Why are you on earth? What for? What’s the endgame of your life?

It’s amazing how a thirteen-year old girl would walk up into an attorney’s office to sue her parents for the rights of her body. She’s smart for a thirteen year old.

This book revolves around Anna, particularly her family. Seven POVs including Julia and Campbell’s. And I only got to read the POV of her dying sister Kate at the very end of the book.

This is slow burn, family oriented and life reflecting choices - it knocks your skin.

(Btw, I haven’t seen the movie yet so I am solely doing reviews from the book.)
