The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music by Dave Grohl
lighthearted
slow-paced
3.5
I don't know on this one. On one hand, listening to Dave talk and tell stories is never a hardship. I most enjoyed the early ones about his youth and the later ones about his daughters.
But this book felt too long to me, and without much direction. It is obviously more a series of essays rather than an autobiography, but I felt a bit lost without an overarching narrative. The middle part mostly is him fanboying over meeting his rock idols. Which is cool. But for 11.5 hours?
I am merely a casual listener of Nirvana and Foo Fighters, and after finishing this book I still don't feel I know a ton about these groups.
