King Kong Théorie by Virginie Despentes

challenging reflective medium-paced

3.75

I read King Kong Theory after seeing several Goodreads reviews. I had heard of it before, but the title didn’t catch my attention. Once I started, I was struck by the simple, direct language—easy to read yet full of substance.

While the book feels rooted in the France of the 70s-90s, many of the themes about gender and class remain relevant today. I wish some of these topics were explored more deeply, but overall, I found it thought-provoking.

It’s a quick, straightforward read that makes you reflect on society. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in bold feminist perspectives.
