Call Me Indian: From the Trauma of Residential School to Becoming the NHL's First Treaty Indigenous Player by Fred Sasakamoose

challenging dark inspiring lighthearted medium-paced

4.25

This is such an important book. It recounts the first hand experience of residential school system and what it means being a First Nations indigenous person throughout the years. This book never sugar coats anything and I respect Sasakamoose for that. At no point does he make it seem like he is anything other than human and also what it is like living as a First Nations indigenous person in a white world. It’s a harrowing tale filled with passion and love. I would recommend this to anyone.
