I enjoyed this book however I also found it problematic and laughable in places.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the reading experience and found it to be a combination of Red Queen and The Hunger Games but it wasn’t the best. It was very tropey with some really problematic relationships, repetitive description/events and some major plot holes. It just didn’t feel like it had been properly developed.
I don’t want to entirely criticise this book as it was kinda cool but just not what I thought it would be. I found myself laughing at points that were supposed to be tragic as I just didn’t care enough about the tragedy.
Overall I enjoyed it but it really wasn’t the greatest and I’m not sure if I’ll reread/continue with the series.
