Novelist as a Vocation by Haruki Murakami
4.0
This book is a collection of essays on the author's experiences as a novelist. It is great for the author's fans and those who want to gain insights into a novelist's mind. It is not a how-to book but the author's thoughts on writing and creativity in our society.
I loved the author's candid experiences and expression. Written in the first person, I could feel the honesty and personality shine through the page. Some insights go against society's expectations but can be seen as the perfect way for the author. It was a beautiful book to read.
I haven't read any of the author's other books, but based on this experience, I would happily pick one up and also pick this book up again in the future.
